Full Job Description:

Summary: The Operations Assistant supports the work of the Office of the Chaplain and Jewish Life at Wake Forest by providing logistical help for programming, managing data entry, and communications through a variety of media, including social media, email, and website.

Essential Functions:

Office of the Chaplain (60%)

  • Creates a hospitable environment where students, parents, faculty, staff and other visitors feel comfortable.
  • Maintains departmental public or shared spaces through regular inspection, arrangement, and restocking, including regularly cleaning the common refrigerator.
  • Collaborates with staff and Religious Life Professionals for campus communications, ensuring both accuracy and engagement through:
    • Design and printing of office publications including fliers and brochures.
    • Regular review and cleaning of bulletin boards overseen by the Office of the Chaplain.
    • Posting fliers on campus for Office of the Chaplain events and programs; ensuring the same information is shared on digital bulletin boards on campus.
    • Support Office of the Chaplain social media presence and online engagement.
    • Assemble and distribute email newsletter on Office of the Chaplain events and programs.
    • Update and maintain Office of the Chaplain webpages.
  • Responsible for checking mail and distributing to staff and Religious Life Professionals; retrieves packages from the mail room when necessary.

Jewish Life (40%)

  • Records data on student participation in Jewish Life and Hillel events and programs using spreadsheet programs.
  • Assembles and distributes the Jewish Life email newsletter.
  • Provides logistical support (i.e., food delivery, set up, take down, etc.) for regular and special events.
  • Provides administrative support for special projects (i.e., Global Giving Week, Birthright recruitment, etc)

Other Functions:

  • Other responsibilities and support for other Office of the Chaplain staff or programming may be assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office platforms.
  • Knowledge of and experience with various social media platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Willingness to work on a multifaith team and serve stakeholders with various religious, spiritual, and secular worldviews.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular–Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for long periods of time.
