Job duties/Skills:

  • Routine duties will vary by specific projects
  • Work in a variety of recreation/athletic settings both indoor and outdoor facilities
  • Assists with daily activities, exhibitions and special events.
  • Assist with on-field or on-court team practices and competitions preforming traditional managerial duties.
  • Assist equipment staff and coaches with various duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the Equipment Room, which includes laundry, practice and game apparel preparation.

Equipment Services offers the opportunity to work in a team environment as student equipment managers. We offer a practical, unique and rewarding experience performing duties as a student manager with one of our Wake Forest varsity athletic teams. A prospective student manager candidate is any current or future Demon Deacon who has a passion for athletics, wants to be involved in a non-playing capacity and thrives in a team environment.

We are looking for students who

  • Are self-motivated, reliable and committed to making a difference in our success both on the playing fields and in the equipment rooms. 
  • Are committed to working no less that 2-3 practice days per week with assigned team (10-20 hrs. per week).
  • Want to be on the field or bench at all home competitions.
  • Want to travel throughout the ACC with their team to away competitions.
  • Are able and willing to work a flexible schedule. 

Basic Functions:

General Information:

  • Assignment to a specific team is based on necessity and evaluated regularly based on student employee performance. 
  • Work schedules are created based on the needs of the team, Equipment Services requirements and student class schedule. 
  • Student should be available to manage a flexible schedule. Employment may require morning, afternoon, evenings and weekends. 
  • Opportunity to travel with assigned team available.
