Job Description

The Student Assistant position within the ISS Center is an outward-facing position that requires daily interaction with international students and scholars at Wake Forest University and ISS staff members. The Student Assistant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate OR graduate (Masters or PhD) degree program at Wake Forest University and be in good academic standing. Required skills include strong customer service, the ability to work effectively and efficiently, the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds, extreme attention to detail, professionalism, maturity, responsibility, and patience. 

Summer months (mid-May through mid-August) 30 hours/wk required. During Fall and Spring semesters up to 20 hrs/wk. Preferred Start Date: May 12, 2025

Job Duties

● Greet walk-in traffic and answer phones
●Answer frequently asked questions regarding office services, programs, policies, and where to find answers to basic questions online
● Be knowledgeable about campus services for referrals as appropriate
● Communicate regularly with international students via email
● Copy, file, scan immigration documents.
● Assist in the processing of applications for a variety of immigration-related benefits
● Perform tasks in various operational systems
● Create, manage, and maintain University content for social media sites including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
● Take photographs and/or videos when applicable to accompany posts on social media sites
● Assist in updating and creating program materials, both printed and electronic
● Assist in program facilitation based on work schedule, including occasional evening programming
● Create and review appropriate and relevant spreadsheets
