Days/Time:  24-30 hours a week ( 4/5 days a week M-F 9:30am to 4:30pm)

Job Description:

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking a select group of enthusiastic students to serve as Summer Forest Ambassadors. These students will represent Wake Forest by sharing their Wake Forest student experience by leading campus tours with prospective students, families/guardians, special groups, counselors, and Admissions guests, participating in summer admissions events, speaking on panels, and working directly with the Admissions Office team. Students will contribute to creating a welcoming and enriching summer campus visitation program. As Forest Ambassadors, these students will be charged with assisting the Admissions Office with recruiting a dynamic and diverse incoming class by sharing their own unique backgrounds and experiences to Wake Forest.

Responsibilities: 

  • Providing tours of campus two times a day, up to four days a week. 
  • Leading tour launches from the visitor center and possibly other locations around campus
  • Supporting admissions staff with group visits (high schools and community-based organizations) and logistics as needed during the summer months
  • Engaging prospective students and their families/guests in conversation (both virtually and in-person)
  • Serving as a liaison and resource for prospective students through (but not limited to) email exchanges, texts, etc.
  • Assist with Admissions Office Special events during summer months, including counselor visit programs, Summer Immersion Sessions and Alumni in Admissions Forum.
  • Work on assigned special projects as needed
  • Attend all meetings and training sessions
  • Assist in virtual programing conducted by deans and counselors
  • Assist in checking in students and parents for information sessions and tours

Preferred Qualifications: 

-Wake Forest Undergraduate students/recent graduates planning to be on campus for at least one summer session are invited to apply for this position. Students applying for both sessions, bilingual students and students from diverse backgrounds and/or experiences are especially encouraged to apply.

-All students must be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing with Wake Forest University

-Applicants must be able to commit to this position  24-30 hours a week (full time) during summer session one, two or both. 

-Unless a summer course is in the evening, students would not be able to complete a course and be a full time Forest Ambassador during the same summer session.

This position will assist the Summer Admissions Office programming needs. Those skills will include, but are not limited to:

  • Public speaking and presentation

  • Interpersonal skills and networking
  • Assist in project planning and management
  • Assist in recruitment and marketing
